The purpose behind the work

About the
Living Bible Timeline

My name is Daphne Green, and I created the Living Bible Timeline to help people see how the people, events, and books of the Bible fit together.

Why the timeline was created

Making the count visible

For many years, I have studied biblical chronology by laying out the years one at a time. I wanted to do more than repeat dates found on other timelines. I wanted to understand how those dates were reached and to make the count visible so that others could examine it for themselves.

The Living Bible Timeline grew from that work. It brings together the biblical timeline, the full King James Bible, Strong’s Concordance, early English Bible translations, side-by-side comparisons, commentaries, historical information, and related study materials. Scripture references and supporting sources are connected throughout the site so visitors can move easily from a person or event to the passages and evidence connected with it.

The foundation and the boundary

Scripture remains distinct

The King James Bible is the foundation of this work. The Book of Jasher and other historical writings are included for comparison and historical study, but they are not presented as equal in authority to Scripture.

I am also the author of The Prophet Jesus: From Deuteronomy to Revelation and Revelation: The Completion of the Song of Moses. Through my books, I encourage people to examine biblical teachings carefully and to allow Scripture to interpret Scripture.

An invitation to examine

Study the evidence for yourself

This website was not created to ask visitors to accept my conclusions without examination. Its purpose is to show the Scriptures, the chronology, and the year-by-year count so that people can study the evidence for themselves.

My hope is that the Living Bible Timeline will help make the Bible’s history easier to follow, encourage deeper study, and point people toward Jesus Christ, in whom the Scriptures find their meaning and fulfillment.

“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”

— 1 Thessalonians 5:21
