The Exodus and Passover

Moses is eighty, Israel departs Egypt, and the religious calendar begins with Nisan as the first month.

King James Version

Exodus 12:2, 41–42

This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.
